GM Defends Hydrogen
In this Wired interview
, Larry Burns, Vice President of R & D and strategic planning at General Motors defends the company's investment in hydrogen cars. "Why do some [environmentalists] come across as anti-hydrogen?" he asks. Well, hmm, maybe because (1) it doesn't improve cars that much (even he claims 50% more efficiency over all, vs 25% for hybrids) and (2) won't be commercially available for a long time (even he says it won't be before 2010), while hybrids have been in the marketplace since 1997. But it's an interesting interview - the Wired reporter hits hard on the key issues.
